L'étoile Magazine

Holidaze

I’ve been up to my eyeballs art directing/designing Holiday stuff!

First of all, check out this flyer for
Hot Holiday, the party I’m hosting with Soviet Panda at Jetset. Isn’t he a festive fellow?

Hot Holiday
With Soviet Panda
Friday, 12/11 • 10-Close
Jetset • 115 N 1st St

2008’s Hot Holiday party was such a success that we’re back for more this year! Warm up to a very special disco-oriented set from DJ Soviet Panda (of
Too Much Love at First Avenue). Word has it that a couple local celebrities will be in attendance, and if last year’s bash is any indication, you’ll be rubbing elbows with an interesting and extremely good-looking crowd.
$3 Vodka soda/tonic • $5 Vodka RedBull

Next, take a look at Jubilee and Black Christmas, a double-whammy of stylish holiday events, and my first project as l’étoile magazine’s staff designer:

Black Christmas

Jubilee is a private event, but here’s the skinny on Black Christmas:

Join the ladies of Blacklist Vintage on Friday, December 11th for a fashionable shopping soiree that's sure to get you in the holiday spirit! Co-presented with l'étoile magazine, this shopping event doubles as a pre-party for the l'étoile/blacklist 1950s-themed, secret location holiday shindig, Jubilee, on December 19th.

Blacklist and l'étoile stylists will be on hand all evening to help you put together the perfect Mad Men-esque look for not only our party on the 19th, but for any festive occasion this holiday season! Offering the most carefully curated selection of men's & women's vintage clothing, hats and accessories in town, you're sure to find just what you're looking for at Blacklist.

Friday's event includes:

• a 10% discount on everything in the store
• complimentary champagne and cookies
• tunes from hot lady DJ duo Double Trouble
• personal styling assistance from Blacklist and l'étoile
• a chance to secure your RSVP for
Jubilee

Project Runway Catapults Twin Cities Fashion Scene

It didn’t take long for Twin Cities fashionistas to forget about the crummy weather last Thursday as the private VIP screening of the premiere episode of Project Runway: Season Six was moved from downtown St. Paul’s Rice Park to the Saint Paul Hotel. As you probably know by now, two local designers are contestants this season: Ra’mon-Lawrence Coleman, formerly of Minneapolis (and a pal of mine); and Christopher Straub, of Shakopee, MN. The crowd was enthusiastically vocal during the screening, which culminated in a huge cheer when judges revealed that Straub and Coleman took first and second place (respectively) in the season’s first challenge.

Host L’étoile Magazine’s event production staff brought me into the mix to brand the event by designing an e-vite (click at left to see full-size), programs, a red carpet photo backdrop and a few speaker support images. Click here to see Digital Crush’s photo coverage of the event.
