It's Fall, Y'all.

Well, almost fall. It’s a very muggy 80° as I’m typing this. However, I always seem to kick into high gear right about this time of year, and something tells me this Autumn will be no exception.

First of all, my pal Phil Miner is throwing a party at Jetset in an effort to help fund his yoga instructor training. I created this flyer to help him promote the event. Doesn’t he look handsome? If you’re in the area and looking for well-crafted cocktails and modern decor, check it out.

The following Saturday, head over to the Ignite Models Studio for SCENEASOTA, one of MN Fashion Week’s must-see events. This runway show, produced by local designer/cutie Maritza Ramirez, boasts a great lineup of fall collections from six up-and-coming Twin Cities designers. I’m particularly excited because this show also marks the design debut of noted fashionista and mplsart.com founder Emma Berg.

My contribution? You guessed it: flyers, programs and other promotional ephemera.

The people watching alone will be worth the ticket price. This event is just one of the many in MN Fashion Week’s Fall ’09 lineup. For the full shakedown on MN Fashion Week, click here.

Project Runway Catapults Twin Cities Fashion Scene

It didn’t take long for Twin Cities fashionistas to forget about the crummy weather last Thursday as the private VIP screening of the premiere episode of Project Runway: Season Six was moved from downtown St. Paul’s Rice Park to the Saint Paul Hotel. As you probably know by now, two local designers are contestants this season: Ra’mon-Lawrence Coleman, formerly of Minneapolis (and a pal of mine); and Christopher Straub, of Shakopee, MN. The crowd was enthusiastically vocal during the screening, which culminated in a huge cheer when judges revealed that Straub and Coleman took first and second place (respectively) in the season’s first challenge.

Host L’étoile Magazine’s event production staff brought me into the mix to brand the event by designing an e-vite (click at left to see full-size), programs, a red carpet photo backdrop and a few speaker support images. Click here to see Digital Crush’s photo coverage of the event.
